Scientifically speaking, what differentiates between pure water, and purified water?
Denise Stephens, ZOI CEO (00:00):
So Tom, let's come back to you, Tom.
ZOI Advisor (00:03):
Yay. I got another question. Thank you, Denise. And thank you, Dr. Nicholas. earlier in the questions, you mentioned a couple of things about waters and different kinds of water, sea water, and salt water. And so what I'd like to do is ask a question about the water type used in and shown on the labels of the zeolite products. And so scientifically speaking, what differentiates between pure water, ultra-pure water, and purified water.
Dr. Nikolaos Tsirikos-Karapanos, PharmD, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon (00:36):
Oh, very nice question. Very nice question, Tom. Thank you for asking those. Yes. Well, you've seen that the ZOI ClearDrops label in the ingredient panels in the other ingredients, it has purified water and potassium sorbate, which is a preservative. ZOI Global liquid formulations are made with purified water and purified water is the official term is the formal term used by the FDA at the FDA regulations. You must have purified water for dietary supplements. Now the definition of purified water is very clear. It must have less than 10 PPM parts per million of total dissolved solids. So, it must have 10 PPM off T D S total dissolve solids then, and only then you'll have a purified water. Denise and Lori have been at Metron, and they have seen what is our infrastructure in order to have purified water. We are above and beyond.
Dr. Nikolaos Tsirikos-Karapanos, PharmD, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon (02:01):
Now. The purified water that is used at ZOI Global formulations is filtered. It goes through reverse osmosis. And at the end, before being used, it is UV sterilized. This is the highest possible quality that you can have with water to be used in dietary supplements. now we defined, we said, what it is purified water. Now let's go to the ultra-pure water, pure water is the water. As it is describing chemistry, hydrogen to oxygen. That means totally stripped from any minerals. This water is used in very specific sectors of high technology industry, like the semiconductors industry in some parts of pharmaceutical industry, okay, this is not a drink. It it's not drinkable the ultrapure water because it lacks any minerals. And if you drink it, it will pull immediately essential minerals from your body into it. So this is dangerous to drink it.
Dr. Nikolaos Tsirikos-Karapanos, PharmD, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon (03:38):
We don't drink. It's not available in the supermarket. You cannot buy, you and I cannot buy as individuals, ultrapure water. Only certain industries can purchase ultrapure water. Now, again, as Tom, you know, we live in the era of marketing over science, and I think many companies in their effort to impress the ignorant buyer, especially the ones that lack any innovation or technology or intellectual property they are using. They're using, you know, fireworks kind of words to impress. And some of them say that they are using ultra-pure water in there that their dietary supplement formulations. I hope that they like
Denise Stephens, ZOI CEO (04:43):
That's it. That's an excellent one. Nicholas. You hope that they might. That that's true based on what you just described for us, Tom, thank you for asking that question and Dr. Nicholas, thank you for answering it.
